Believe it or not, “heat-related illnesses” kill more people inside the United States every year than all other weather events combined! That means heat kills more than tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, blizzards, noreasters etc. all combined. Heat is very dangerous and often creates illness or even death without warnings.
According to the CDC, 658 people on average die from heat every year, and last year 172 people died from the heat in Phoenix alone.
